Post subject: About "not read" topics. How to show them all?

Good day everybody!

As you know forum can show not all new topics but only last 150, and as i understood, they are only from the last visit.

How to make it work as it has to be? So that no matter when or who enters forum he will see all the topics he never opened as "not opened"?
So the first time somebody registers he will see all the topics as "not opened". And after a few hours, it will not be forgotten because cookies are not enough for this task.
I am sick of that there is somewhat timeout to read all that is marked "new", because after a few hours cookie will update and mark all topics read.

Thank you !!!

It's hard to tell, at least with a vanilla phpBB2 instance, because unread data is stored in the DB.
You might be interested in UPI2DB (Unread Post Information To Database), or my favorite, KUF (Keep Unread Flags). Make sure, for the latter, to use the non-Categories Hierarchy version.

That one is beautiful!!! Thank you.
But had to fix it, because it has some sql that is not optimised for a big forum.

Found out that this mod stops showing new topics if they are one week old.
Where is this timeout? Cannot find anything icon_sad.gif I want it 2 months at least.
Maybe it is some default number from forum itself?

According to the MOD install instructions, the timeout is 60 days:

keep_unread_2-0-7.txt, Line 463:
Code:
      // 60 days limit
      if ($userdata['user_lastvisit'] < (time() - 5184000))
      {
         $userdata['user_lastvisit'] = time() - 5184000;
      }

If that figure is the default then it certainly is near 60 days.
5184000 seconds = 8.571428571 weeks = 59.999999997 days
